Bananas Foster
Serves 4
Ingredients
125g butter
125g brown sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon
4 bananas, cut in half, lengthwise, then halved
4tbs banana liqueur
4tbs dark rum
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
Method
- Heat a frying pan and add the butter, sugar and cinnamon and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the banana liqueur and the bananas. Cook slowly until the fruit has started to colour up and soften slightly.
- Turn the heat up and add the rum. Tip the pan, to light the alcohol and let the rum burn off.
- Put a scoop of ice cream in a shallow bowl and place the bananas on top then pour over the hot sauce from the pan.
